Description
The manor house of the village of Goriano Sicoli The manor house of Goriano Sicoli used to be a castle in the XI century, while in 1593 it was transformed into a local parish Church. It was once very important for the whole Region as it represented a massive defensive structure. In XI century, the castle of Goriano was owned by the Berardi family and was erected on a hill, protected by a bulwark and surrounded by a double circle of walls with loopholes. The entrance was through three doors equipped with portcullis. One of the door (named 'Murro') shows an ogival arch, which orginally should have been round, like the other two doors. In particular, it has a marble plate, supported by two female figures and showing the fragmented shape of a lion of uncertain heraldic style.

Potential usability
The current usage of the cultural value is religious, due to the importance of the Church which took the place of the manor house. The potential usability could be implemented by disseminating information about the ancient use and role of the building and valorising its former aspect and functions.
