The area is known for its excellent produce and traditional specialties which are famous among gastronomes. One of the famous is spetzofai, a traditional dish of the Magnesia region. The dish is made out of fresh tomatoes, peppers and spicy sausage, spices and aromatic plants and traditionally, this sausage stew is spicy. Usually farm families or small companies make their own sausage and sell them in the local taverns which they made the dish. This dish suits colder temps more than in the summer, is combined with red wine and it is very famous among the visitors of the area.
