The village of di Mezzo Fort is of medieval origins and is located on the southern part, upon San Calvario's mountain. It is known as a nice place where people can spend holidays in close contact with nature.



Description

The village of di Mezzo Fort (Rocca di Mezzo) After the defeat of the Roman Empire, the territory was under the Odoacre Kindom'r rule followed by Teodorico's. Soon after the conquest by Lombards, the area was ruled by the Dukedom of Spoleto. It is around 1.000 A.D that four communities, dedicated to sheep farming and agriculture, founded the village of Rocca di Mezzo. The village is of medieval origins and is located on the southern part, upon San Calvario's mountain.

Potential usability

The cultural value today is known as a place where people can enjoy trail walking and mountain hiking. Therefore, the cultural value is already on the market. However, due to the recent earthquake which stroke Abruzzo, many interventions would be necessary in order to restore buildings and monuments and let tourists appreciate its architecture.
